About Us

About the Artist:

Christina is the Owner/Lead Artist of Faces & Spaces. Born in Virginia, and raised North of Seattle, Washington, she developed a love of traveling, meeting new people, and trying new things. In 2005, she moved across the country to attend The College of New Jersey and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Art, and a minor in Deaf Studies. She has been a Camp Counselor at Black Bear Lake Day Camp, a Preschool Teacher at The Learning Experience, Substitute Teacher in Hamilton and Ewing, NJ, and a Nanny for several families. With no understanding of free time, she has also been a Bank Teller, Cocktail Waitress, and Custom Framer at Michael's - all while face painting on weekends. She just got married in 2018 to her amazing husband, Tim Karch. No children of their own yet while Christina builds her business! They do have fur babies though! A Golden Lab named Dodger and a Black Cat called Kitty.

Event/Party Experience:

Christina started Face Painting the summer of 2007. With a desire to constantly improve, she has gained a following and reputation for her face paint, balloon art, and now, decor. Balloon Decor and advanced sculpting increasingly became a large part of her business since 2018. In 2019 she started working more with florals. When the world shut down in 2020, she figured out a way to bring balloon decor to your celebrations and since the decor business has taken over.  We are now into the building of event props to use as rentals, combining floral and balloons to decorate Bridal & Baby Showers, Weddings, and various celebrations.

Since 2010, Christina has worked for two large party rental companies in New Jersey, giving her a combined 5.5 years experience intensely involved in the event industry and the many aspects of it including large scale craft/activity stations, rentals of tents and inflatables, catering, and more. She managed day to day office operations, customer service, trained new employees, created new activities, planned events, and managed a plethora of other artists and performers. These experiences made her knowledgable about events of all kinds including: time management of event activities, what activities are best for indoor vs. outdoor, summer vs. winter, age appropriate activities, how to set up an event so it flows, and how to set up an event to achieve a desired experience for your guests.
